Last month we celebrated Ryker's first birthday at the park.
The same park that the local LARPing group just so happens to meet at.
Every Sunday.
It should have been a dream come true for all of us.
The opportunity to watch grown men dressed in their Halloween costume after Halloween pretend-fighting with imaginary Pokemon.
Fake sword like utensils and shields.
Impressive paper crowns.
All rolled in to an elaborate live play of cheesy acting, all free of charge.
It was exactly what I had in mind for my son's first birthday.
Middle-aged men with mullets dressed up in medieval costumes, pretending to battle to the death in an arena filled with sawdust, and buy sawdust I mean sand from the parks volleyball court.
What more can anyone possibly desire?
Happy birthday Ryker!
Happy birthday Ryker!
All this, just for you, bud!
"Oh my gosh," CJ said.
"Jesus is here!."
Needless to say, we won't be doing any more birthdays at that Park... on Sundays.
