My 4 year old daughter shaves her face.

Last night I went into the bathroom to get Rilyn out of the tub and found her with foam soap all over her face.

"What are you doing?" I asked her.

"Shaving!" She replied happily.

I explained to her that girls do not shave their face's.

"Well Lubby does!!"She quickly informed me.

If  you are wondering.
Lubby is her grandmother.

Rilyn aka Smarty-Pants!

The other day she asks my mom "Mimi, how old are you?"

"Forty eight." My mom answers.

With a confused look Rilyn asked her " Why do you have a 'D' between the four and the eight??"

LOL!

I love my cute little Smarty-Pants!!

Muscles.

We visited my cousin and her fiance this weekend. First let me explain that her fiance is one of those, healthy, fit people. You know, the kind that only eat chicken, beans, and eggs and that visit the gym like 3 times a day.
Anyway, we all swam this weekend and apparently... Rilyn, my four year old has a crush on him.
She was giggly and she just kept talking and talking to him.

"Hey Shaun, why do you smile so much..." She'd giggle.

She just wouldn't leave the poor guy alone for nothing!

Then, Rilyn asks her Dad.."Daddy, why don't you have muscles like Shaun?...Shaun has pretty muscles!"

Josh explained to her that he just got a gym membership and then mumbled something about going inside to cry...

Poor Josh.

If it matters at all, I think your muscles are WAY prettier than Shaun's. Promise. :)

Sarah's Baby Shower ~Construction Themed~

Saturday was my sister-n-laws baby shower. She is having the FIRST boy in our family so we all had a blast throwing her this shower. Its fun to actually decorate for a boy for once! We served the food in the back of dump truck and hard hats and decorated the tables as roads with cones! And this was the perfect theme for me to make my "Daddy's Diaper Duty Device" tool belt!

Here's the construction themed cake I made.
This cake gave me HELL.
It could be my fault... I did wait until the very last minute to get started on it. Midnight the night before the shower.

And I did accidentally fall asleep with the first cake in the oven... Oops.
My bad.

I thought the baby carriage watermelon was going to be super hard, it was actually really easy though and it turned out so cute!

I just had to take a few pics of my favorite little people! ;)

Ah... what a fun game. :) Sarah's was blind folded and her mother-n-law was the 'baby'. The baby had to cry and Sarah had to feed her blind folded.
Too funny!

You want to see a super cool trick, by a super cool chick??

LOL I have no idea why she always does this exact move... she says its her 'Nastics show!" (Gymnastics's show) LOL

Then after that long Saturday we swam for hours Sunday... ah, relaxing. :)

Lauren's AMAZING Room!

Guess who recently got hired for her FIRST real designing job??

Yep! The Queen Bee herself, ME!

I think this was my absolute favorite room to do! No, not because I actually got paid, but because I absolutely LOVED everything in this room!

The room was decorated for a 12 year old girl. She wanted something fun, retro, and with a mustache. LOL

We made or painted EVERYTHING in this room.

We painted the room a 2 tone gray and striped it.
I cut and upholstered the headboard. LOVE IT!
I made all the pillows, curtains, and the canopy.
Almost all the accessories were sprayed brush nickel and we left only a few bright colors, for a pop of color.
I sprayed the lamp and them recovered both shades.

I LOVE the chalkboard wall... AND the gorgeous vintage-y frame!

I am in love with collages and Lauren LOVES mustaches, LOL

Can you say embarrassing???

Okay, so I've started going to an adult fitness class.

Thats not the embarrassing part, unless you were to come watch me...LOL that'd be pretty darn embarrassing.

And only because I'm not the type that likes for alot of people to see me cry.

Kidding... I dont REALLY cry.

Atleast not ALL the time.
Anyway.. so back to the embarrassing part.

Okay, SO we were working out.

And when we moved on to the next workout and the instructor says..."Ok, now we are going to work our hamstring."

"I thought we just worked out hamstring...""I said.

And before the instructor could answer I said, pointing at my ARM,  "is your hamstring in the front or the back ??"

You could hear a pin drop.

Then everyone laughed .. and laughed..and laughed.

And thats when I realized..... your friggin' hamstring is NOT in your arm!

Stupid!Stupid!Stupid!

Yeah, I was pretty darn embarrassed.

Holy cow, please let these people think I was just joking....PLEASE!!!

To make matters worse, I told Josh about it.

Yeah, not a good idea.

The next morning, the first words out of his mouth that morning was.."How's your hamstring??"
Then he laughed, hystarically.

And to nake matters even worse... I had to go back to the gym the next day for Rilyn's State Competition.

(The fitness class I take is at the same place the girls do gymnatics.)

And would you believe it if I told you that  the first thing Josh did when we got there was go right up to my instructor and say, while laughing... "Man, Roxie said her hamstring is really sore today!"

I'm going to kill him.

CHICO

Before we left on our cruise last month Rilyn got upset.

"Here momma... here's my trophy. " She said handing me her trophy she just had won in gymnastics. "I want you to take it with y'all so you don't forge about me." She sobbed.

I comforted her and told her she gets to have 5 sleep overs! She was excited. I told her I would buy her whatever she wanted from Mexico to make her feel better.

"Really?! Whatever I want?" She asked.

"Yep, what do you want mommy and daddy to buy you.?" I asked her.

Its like she had this whole thing planned because she quickly replied "A Chihuahua!"

Huh??

I laughed and blew it off, I mean, she'll forget all about it.

In my dreams.

The day before we were to arrive back home I called home to check on the kids.

Rilyn started off by sobbing and telling me that she missed us and that she forgot what we looked like.

"Guess what tomorrow is?" I said.

"What?" she sobbed.

"Tomorrow we are coming home!" I said.

"Yay!" She cheered.

"Guess what tomorrow is?" She asked me right back.

"What?" I asked.

"Tomorrow is when you are bringing me my Chihuahua!" She said giggling.

Uh oh. She, clearly, did not forget about it.

The next day after we got off the ship I called home again to talk to the kids.

When Rilyn got on the phone I told her we were on our way home and she said ..."Do I hear barking??"

LOL
Um, she definitely did not hear barking. We were sitting in the terminal waiting on my mom and there was no dogs around.

I started feeling bad after I talked to her.

The poor child has been with out her parents for a whole 5 days and all she asks for is a Chihuahua from Mexico.

I mean, shes already promised she'd feed it and take care of it all on her own.

SO, I got on craigslist and began looking up Chihuahua puppies between Galveston and our home.

I got lucky, stopped on the way home and got her a puppy.

Now, I know what you are thinking... ANOTHER dog???

And my answer is: At least it's not another kid! :)

Right now, we only have Lexi, so this is only  #2.

When we arrived at Lubby's to get the kids and we put the puppy in a bag to surprise her.

She was asleep when we got there so we woke her up and the first thing out of her mouth was..."Where's my puppy?"

We tricked her and told her we were sorry that we couldn't bring her a puppy from Mexico.

She immediately started sceaming crying.

"Just look in the bag..we got you a surprise." we told her. LOL

She was ecstatic after she seen the puppy. And so was Raigen. C.J ... wasn't too impressed with it. We told them it was all of theirs to share.

So far things are going to with the pup... Rilyn, so far, gets up and walks him and feeds him. I have to say, she is a good little mama! :)

Meet Chico!

Gymnastics

For a fundraiser I have been taking gymnastic pictures to raise money for our parent club. This time I tried
getting some pictures of Raigen.. talk about hard work! LOL

Raigen and her best bud Brylynn

Rilyn on bars..

Someone got wore out watching big sister at her State Competition....

The table was hard so she found somewhere better to sleep..... out on the gym floor right in the middle of it all. And yes, she was really sleeping! LOL
