When your kids let you walk around with only one eyebrow on...

Kids can be so cruel sometimes. Today my kids let me go into their school with only one eyebrow on. Who does that to their mom?

Eyebrows are the most important thing you can wear! I'm not kidding when I say I'd rather walk around braless then without my eyebrows on!

You know how people have nightmares about showing up places without any clothes on... Well I have nightmares about showing up places without eyebrows on! And today half of my worst nightmare came true!

I'm totally putting those little butt holes on the naughty list.

Farmhouse Christmas Sign for Sale!

I am literally in the fetal positive from laughing so hard!

And because I generally don't get embarrassed, I'm going to tell you about the one time I decided to make a distressed farmhouse Christmas signs to sail.

I know you won't belive it, but I totally free-handed this.

I pomise!

I painted it... distressed it...and was just about to add the burlap to hang it from, but it was missing something......

Eh.... nevermind.  Looks good to me.

Farmhouse distressed Christmas sign for sale: $25

But... don't tell anyone who you bought it from.

So this happened.....

I use to be one of those moms who could brag about having four kids- none of which have ever had a broken bone.

Until now.

This poor guy was playing football with the guys and came down on his arm wrong and fractured it.

Did I mention it was right in the middle of his sisters softball tournament.

After X-rays and a splint we were able to get in to an orthopedic doctor a couple of days later for a cast.

He seems a little too excited about this lime green cast that everyone will get to sign, haha!

I am sad about his arm, but thankful that this right-handed dude can still wipe his own butt! Haha!

Adalynn Michelle

Ya'll!

My little sister had a baby!

Adalynn was born a little early and spent some time in the NICU, but we are thrilled that she is home now and this weekend I got to snap some precious pictures of her.

Can I just be a photographer/chef/HGTv Star in my next life?! HA!

I am by no means a professional photographer, but she made me feel like it when these pictures came out THIS PRECIOUS! All the heart eyes, ya'll!!!!!!!!

Holly is back! [North Pole Breakfast 2017]

Holly is back- which means its time for our North Pole Breakfast!

This year she brought elf hats and cups for all the kids!

Secret-
Wanna know how to get your elf hat (or santa hat) to stand up so perfectly?

Yeti cup! (Or any tumbler will do!)

How adorable are those napkins?!
#dollartreeforthewin

Holly would like me to brag a little and tell you all how super excited she was to find EVERYTHING this year for her NP Breakfast at her favorite store... DOLLAR TREE!

Also- she told me to tell you her super cute new jacket she found at TJMaxx for $4 and her skirt is borrowd from her bestie, Barbie!

How did Holly know that I needed more mini balls for our trees?

I'm so excited that I'll be able to use these after breakfast when I'm cleaning this mess up and washing dishes.

***

And just for fun here is a look at our 2016 North Pole Breakfast!

(Because we are totally NOT mentioning that Holly clearly outdid herself last year and was such a lazy elf this year!)

I can't wait to see what shenanigans she gets into this year!

Christmas Cards 2017

Today I decided to attempt Christmas pictures!

So... When you have exactly 22 minutes to take family pictures when you get off from work because it literally gets dark at 5:22, you have to improvise...

Please excuse me while I (try to) create  a "Christmas tree" scenery in my back yard!

Everyone may not be smiling.

Everyone not may not be posed perfectly.

And these pictures may not be the best.

But these people are my favorite!

I had too many ideas of pictures I wanted to take and not enough time! So, I'm sure we will taking many, many more Christmas pictures in the weeks to come!

Garage Sale Upcycle- Porch Art!

I have been on the hunt for a large wood (with no glass) framed piece of art to turn into a chalkboard for my porch.

And I was super excited to find this one for $5 at a garage sale!

Its perfect! I love the chunky frame, but not so much the art!

And for about $2, its the perfect chalkboard for my porch!

And I didn't even buy chalkboard paint (mainly because I'm just lazy so I used just some black paint I had!)

I drew on it with a chalk marker that cost $2 and dusted the thing with baby powder so it looked like a "used" chalkboard! 😂😂😂
#imsoghetto

Hey! And look what the original price tag said! 😲

Now if I could just learn to draw fancy chalkboard art....

FYI- Black paint and a chalk marker works just like a chalkboard- but costs a lot less!

Giant taco anyone?

Let's taco about this giant Taco pinata that I just made for my niece's birthday party tomorrow! She's having a Taco Two-sday Party! (Cutest theme ever!!)

And I'm about to totally brag because everything was bought at the dollar store and Dollar Tree! And it cost me under $10 to make!

Look on Amazon how much Taco pinatas cost and then you can see exactly why I'm treating myself to a margarita! Because I just saved a lot!

Can't wait to see those Slaughter kids tomorrow and watch them slaughter this pinata! 😂

💙

No funny story-just snapped a picture of this little monkey that is screaming Fall! I love everything about it from the pumpkins to the black cat... to the sweet little boy right in the middle!

We're off to run some errands!

Happy Saturday!

Icecream time!

Raigen was excited when her 2nd grade class won an ice cream party from the cafeteria for eating lunch during national school lunch week!

Red Ribbon Week and 50s day! 2017

A couple weeks ago we celebrated Red Ribbon Week and 50s day! CJ's school was wearing red and putting a cap on drugs and it was 50s day for Raigen's!

I wasn't able to make it to see this princess dance at 50s day because I was running back and forth to the doctor with Rilyn who was battling pneumonia :-(
But Dad made it!

Just some fun school memories!

Late post: Halloween Festivities 2017

Our Halloween festivitie-fun started at the girls friends' Karli and Kendi's 10th birthday glow party!

My little princess Poppy and neon skeleton had a blast! We painted, danced and sang karaoke!
And by "we" I mean all three of us! I had so much fun at this party too!

Such a fun day with my girls!

Next up was our Church's annual Fall Festival!
Rilyn was at home sick with pneumonia and CJ was grounded so it was just me and the littles!

And I may be biased but I'm pretty sure I had the cutest little minion in the most precious princess Poppy!

Seriously?! How cute is he!

Finally it was time for Halloween! To say our Halloween was low-key would have to be an understatement. (I'm secretly not complaining though, lol!)

This year as soon as we got dressed to head out trick-or-treating the bottom fell out and it was pouring rain. There wasn't really anything else to do so we just headed to Lubby and Pop's house to raid their candy!

And to watch the Astros of course!

Even though Ryker loves the minions he hated twearing the glasses! So he opted to be Batman for Halloween!

And of course he kept yelling "I superhero, I save the day!"

Now to look forward to Turkey Time!

Ryker the Twonado.

How does my 2 year old have so much energy?

I've been eating healthy and working out and today I found myself so exhausted from dealing with my little twonado that by 9 a.m. this morning I actually thought about going into work.

Sure I'll go in and work for free... Cuz it's a heck of a lot less tiring than being a mom. 😂

Have you ever wondered where toddlers get their energy from?

Lately Rykers diet has been terrible...so how does he sustain his energy?

The zombie minion has been running non-stop since 8am with no nap and its now 6pm and he still going full speed.

Hey- you know what he had for breakfast?

A bite of a pancake and a cup of milk....you know why?

Because this morning he decided he no longer liked pancakes. Only waffles.

The dude has been murdering pancakes his ENTIRE LIFE!

But not anymore.

This morning he looked at his food and said, "mom, whats dat?"

I said "a pancake, eat up!"

I would also like to make note that he eats pancakes at least once a week so this is nothing new.

He took one bite and replied, "I can't yike dat."

I said" whatchu mean you can't like it? Boy- you better eat."

"I not yike pancakes. I yike waffles."

Ya'll, his pancake sat at his table for 4 hours and he never touched it again.

I tried the whole... "sit there till you eat" gig but... hes two.

So, basically he didnt care and just gave me a look that translated to, "boo.... I'm two and I ain't got no where to be.... I'll sit here all day."

And... he sat there.

So ...I let him up. He was right and being the super smart  mom I am, I knew he would come back to it when he got hungry.

I wish I could say I was right.

But I also wish he came with instructions, too.

He went on about his life.

Until lunch.

At lunch it was a much different story.

He literally spun his head around in circles on his shoulders screaming until I gave him exactly 2 packs of minion fruit snacks.

And he refused to eat anything else.

The only positive- atleast he was getting his fruit.

Yeah....so...

Update: Following all this morning  fun, for a late lunch I did end up convincing him to eat spegettios and he inhaled two bowls AND an apple sauce pouch.

So glad I could find something you finally wanted to eat, your majesty.

Because sometimes we all need to be reminded.

As we were driving home tonight and the light was shinning through my window I caught a glimps of this. ❤

Sometimes even if I feel as though I am failing in every other aspect of my life- I'm finding comfort in the fact that, hey, atleast I am raising some sweet little God-fearing little people.

Well... today anyway.

My new obsession!!!

Never mind that I haven't even posted my kids Halloween pictures yet... but check this out!

When I saw this purse at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago I knew instantly that it would look awesome with a monogram! And I knew instantly that it had to be mine when the lady told me this Lancome purse was only $1! Score!

I dropped it off on Monday for a fancy gold monogram and yall! It's my new favorite purse! Possibly ever! I love it as much as I love my husband!

Now I'm no model, I know some would beg to differ, 😂) but this purse  makes me look so good I cannot resist posing with it!

And just in case you're wondering here's what it looks like in color:

And this is precisely why nothing makes me happier than a good garage sale find! (Sorry Joshy poo!)

DIY Porch before and After!

Let me just go ahead and start you all off with a before picture of my front porch (and I'll just go ahead and appologize  because I took a terrible before picture!)

If there was an award for "terrible before picture taker person"  I'm pretty sure I would totally win! Haha!

I never take before pictures! And often remember after I've already started the project... Oops.

Y'all! This project to the took a total of about 10 to 15 minutes! I had big plans to tape off and sponge each stencil individually however being a mama of four kids you stay pretty darn busy and well... I just didn't have the time. I literally laid the stencil down took a can of heavy duty commercial spray paint and went to town. I did this stencil pattern randomly on my porch. Didn't think twice about it. And I love it!!!

I love that no stencil isn't perfect and that they all have a bit of a worn look. And the fact that over time they will get worn even more! I just love it!

This porch has totally seen better days and we have been debating for years on whether we should paint it or not. We love the natural wood look but it is a bit dingy looking. But not anymore!

Love, love, loooooove.
