Garage Sale Finds!

It's no secret that I love a good garage sale!

Three or four times a year I venture down south to hit up neighborhood garage sales! (We don't have that luxury where I live in East Texas!)

After a full day, my van was packed FULL! Today I thought I'd share some of my favorites!

First up- a brand new Dooney & Bourke Purse for $10! #love

Next up- I scored these ottomans for....... ready....... both for FIVE DOLLARS! That's  $2.50 EACH! I'm super excited about this find since we are hosting Thanksgiving this year and we have limited seating as it is. These will add two more seats and they look great in my living room!

Next, I found Ryker this super cute activity rug in excellent shape for $1! #heapproves!

Now- I know what your thinking about this metal piece with crazy colors.......

But its the perfect piece I've been in search of for the space above my TV! BEST PART IS- IT WAS $1 and all I had to do was touch up the crazy colors with a brown sharpie!

Last- I scored this vintage farmhouse inspired school house paper sorter for $4! (Actually my friend Belinda did, but I high jacked it and I'm claiming it! Haha!)

I'll spend this coming week highlighting more of my favorite finds!! Stay tuned!

Fall Home Tour! 2017

It's not much, but we are feeling a little like  Fall over here in the Long House.

I found this print online, printed it, aged it with tea, and framed it!

Its the perfect rustic/farmhouse Fall print for my from porch!

You'd probably never guess I picked this giant wreath up at a resale shop for $2!

It was covered in the ugliest flowers but it was FULL of greenery so I snatched it! After I removed the flowers (all but the orange ones) I added pumpkins and tons of fall leaves! I finished it with a metal welcome tag I ripped from another sign I wasn't using.

Our media cabinet is dressed up with a "Give Thanks" sign I bought at Dollar General and some faux pumpkins I picked up at Wal-Mart for $1 each! #score

My island centerpiece is a farmhouse style basket hot glued to a stone candle holder I picked up at a garage sale! I filled it with greenery balls, leaves, pinecones, acorns, and pumpkins.

Here is the rest of how I sprinkled Fall around my house:

Happy Fall Y'all!

Free Fall Art!

Although I'm not a fan of candy corn, I am a fan of this fun Fall print!

I'm always looking for ways to sprinkle the holiday spirit around my house without breaking the bank. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to decorate my house on an unlimited Hobby Lobby budget, but Josh says thats not possible! (Haha!) #joshismean

So, I found this cute chalk-style print online and with the help of modge podge and a old framed rooster print- voila!

Super cute Fall for FREE!

Quick & Easy White Chicken Chili

Recently, I've received a few emails to share more recipes and well, since the temperature has dropped and Fall has officially arrived down here in the South, I though I'd celebrate with a super easy (and yummy!) White Chicken Chili!

I have been seeing tons of crockpot recipes for this but I needed a quicker version. Ya'll, if I am honest, some weeks I find my life in a blur... from running from work straight to a practice or game and then meal planning just never happens. This was definitely one of those weeks. Our kids are involved in a lot from; Church, Church Choir, Honors Choir, UIL, Tennis, and Softball-
AND THAT IS JUST THIS MONTH!

So when I finally realized we had nothing going on tonight and we could actually eat something other than ball park nachos, I ran straight by the store to pick up a rotisserie chicken to make a quick White Chicken Chili.

It was SO good, so I thought I'd share it!

-

Ingredients:
1 Small White Onion (I buy diced frozen onions and keep on hand for recipes like this!)
3-4 cans of Great Northern Beans
1 Can of Rotel
1 Can of Cream Style Corn
1 Can of Whole Kernel Corn
1 Packet of Taco Seasoning
1 Block of Cream Cheese
1 Cup of Heavy Cream
1-2 Cans of Chicken Broth
1 Small Rotisserie Chicken
Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Powder to taste!

I don't know how much easier it gets, but, you literally de-bone the chicken, mix it all together on medium heat, and when the cream cheese is melted- its done!

I served it over tortilla chips (my kids eat pretty much anything served over chips! HA!) and we topped it with cheese and fresh cilantro!

Other yummy toppings would be sour cream, pico, or a sliced avocado!

What a perfect dinner to welcome some cooler nights!

Happy Fall!

Bunco Halloween Party {2017}

This year is no different than the rest when it comes to a fun Bunco Halloween party with these ladies!

This year Tiffani, Kelly, and I continued our tradition of a group costume and pulled off the Kardashian sisters! ( Although I may slightly-kinda-sorta- look more like Caitlin Jenner!)

Annnnnnnnd according to my super sweet hubby- we look like the Adam's Family. #sorudejosh

See Josh! Nailed it:

And just for fun here we are last year as the Sanderson Sisters!

And some of my favorite past bunco costumes:

White Trash Barbie!

Granny looking for her lost dog!

Happy Friday!

Our favorite little ball player! ♥

We are in full swing with Fall ball and let me just take a few minutes to brag on our girl- yall, Raigen has some serious talent on the field! The girl is just SO AWESOME! Josh and I often kid, because we have never really even worked with her and she is just THAT good! After every game we always have random people come tell us how great she did and how they love watching her play! This kid is an awesome hitter, she always gets tons of people out, she can throw like a champ, and catches equally as good! #iamsobraggingonmygirl

We often get into debates on where she gets her athleticism from and Josh will swear its him, but I don't think he realizes how INTENSE Marching Band was!!!!! You have to have MAJOR skills to be able to create those mind-blowing formations WHILE playing an instrument! #notkidding

Sidenote: You have NO idea how cute it is seeing this boy cheer his sister on!

The truth is, its probably neither of us, but the fact that she is SUPER OCD- both on the field and in the class room. She always strives to make the right decision, perfect grade, and wants to make everyone happy. I just wanted to take a few minutes to brag on our girl. We are so proud of the heart she has for the game and LOVE watching her!

Halloween Class Snacks!

Fall may be my busiest time of the year, but it is also my favorite time. I love all things Fall- including making fun Halloween class snacks!

Right now I am totally going to brag because the girls and I whipped up these fun snacks for Raigen's class after bible study tonight.

Witches Broom Pretzels - Mummy Juice - Ghost Cheese

And just for fun- here are some past snacks we have made for the kids' classes:

And because they are so darn cute, here they are making "Bloody Band-Aid Snacks"
just for fun one Fall evening in 2012!

Steals & Deals! Vol. 1

If there was an award for bargain shopping... I'm not bragging but I would probably win it. People are always asking where I find good deals at and so I thought I'd start sharing some of my secrets!

Y'all! Today I'm so excited to show to you some super cute boots I scored from Goodwill! Yes, Goodwill!

This last haul I went on I got so many good things that I'll be sharing over the next week or so, so stay tuned! But, first up are these adorable fringe boots! Would you believe it if I told you they look brand-new and I only paid $6.99?!

They are super cute, comfortable, and perfect for Fall! #score

Now, I know my selfie game needs serious help but I just so happen to have this super cute top with champagne colored flowers that match my boots perfectly hanging in my closet waiting for me this fall! I picked it up at a few months ago for $5 at CATOS.

Tomorrow I'll show you some super cute jeans that I picked up for under $10 that retail for over $100!

Rilyn's 10th birthday celebration, part 1

October 3, 2017 this girl officially turned TEN!

Although we have a major epic sleepover this weekend, we had a mini celebration Tuesday evening with family.

All the grandparents and half of the aunts and uncles could make it.

We celebrated with the birthday girls' dinner pick:

Noodles with alfredo sauce.

Fried Chicken

A caesar salad

 Garlic knots

And, of course, a cookie cake!

Happy official 10th birthday my sweet girl!

And then she woke up and somehow she looks so much older now! Stooooop.

Being their mama is the best. ♥

CJ- The Comedian.

On the eve of my daughter's 10th birthday we learned that, like his father, our son is quite the comedian.

Now, I may sound boastful, and while, we do support all of our many children's many talents... this is one that I don't believe will get much encouragement from my husband and I.

Yesterday my charming 9 year old son told his lady bus driver a not so charming joke.

It went something sort-a, kind-a, exactly like this:

"Hey, bus driver...." yelled CJ, "what did that man put in that mailbox?" he asked, pointing out the window.

She apparently didn't know the correct answer, but don't worry he did.

He quickly yelled, "deez nutts," and he may or may not have did a very inappropriate hand jester.

Now, I know what you are thinking and I know how terrible we look like as parents, but I assure you he did not learn that joke from us...

...his father and I are much funnier than that.

But- in case you are wondering...Yes! He is totally SO GROUNDED.

Rilyn Michelle {10 years old}

Today we headed out for an impromptu photo shoot for this almost 10 year old!

Ya'll, where did my baby go?!

I cant even express into words how lucky I am to be her mama and I can't wait to surprise her this weekend!

I love you sweet girl!

Garage Sale Upcycle!

I love when I find random junk at garage sales. I picked up this  metal piece a couple of years ago for $2.

I've been hesitant on hanging it and, honestly, forgot about it. Recently, though, Ive been in search of a metal piece for my bathroom vaity.  My bathroom is terribly small so I am always looking for ways to jazz it up without taking up space and ever since we moved back into our house I've been on a minimalist kick and I just haven't been into hanging a lot on the walls. Its like I'm anti-clutter now, haha!

I just decided to hold it up to the vanity and immediately I loved it! And two screws is all it took. Simple as that.

The best part is, it's something that is easily removable if I get tired of it!
